You could argue that our summer programme is, quite simply, a matter of life and death! The first half features Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, the land of death in Finnish mythology and an English composer’s lament for a way of life – indeed, a world – forever changed by war. The second half focuses on dance in a modern re-working of the Mexican danzón and in the well-known Dance Episodes from Copland’s ballet: both perfect examples of vitality.
